Electrical Questions

Q: Why does my breaker keep tripping?

A: Common causes: overloaded circuit (too many devices), short circuit (hot wire touching neutral/ground), ground fault (current leaking), faulty breaker, or bad appliance. We diagnose with circuit testing. Starting at $189 to troubleshoot and fix.

Q: Do I need a permit for electrical work?

A: Simple repairs (replacing outlets/switches like-for-like) = no permit. New circuits, panel work, major installations = permit required. We handle all permitting and inspections.

Q: What's the difference between GFCI and AFCI?

A: GFCI protects against shock (required in wet areas: bathrooms, kitchens, outdoors). AFCI protects against fires caused by arcing (required in bedrooms and living areas). Both are code-required in different locations.

Q: How fast can you respond?

A: We respond to calls/texts within minutes. Same-day service often available. Scheduled work typically books 1-5 days out.

Lighting Questions

Q: How many recessed lights do I need?

A: General rule: 4-6 feet apart for ambient lighting. Living rooms: 6-8 lights. Bedrooms: 4-6 lights. Kitchens: 8-12 lights depending on size and layout. We provide free spacing design during consultation.

Q: What's a canless LED light?

A: Modern recessed lights that don't require a separate can/housing. They clip directly into the ceiling hole. Faster install, less ceiling space needed, energy-efficient, and lasts 25+ years.

Q: Should I add a dimmer?

A: Yes! Dimmers let you control brightness and mood. LED-compatible dimmers are required for LED lights (not old incandescent dimmers). We install smart dimmers that work with voice control. Add dimmer: $145+

Remodeling Questions

Q: How long does a bathroom remodel take?

A: Basic refresh: 1-2 weeks. Mid-tier: 2-3 weeks. High-end spa: 3-4 weeks. Timeline depends on tile work, custom orders, and permit approval.

Q: Can we live in the house during a remodel?

A: Depends on scope. Single bathroom or kitchen with alternate facilities = usually yes with some inconvenience. All bathrooms at once or full kitchen gut = we recommend moving out temporarily for 2-4 weeks.

Q: Do you help with design?

A: Yes! We provide design consultation for space planning, material selection, lighting design, and fixture specs. For complex structural changes, we can work with your architect or recommend one.

Q: What if we want to make changes mid-project?

A: Change orders are normal. We price it out (labor + materials + timeline impact), you approve in writing, we execute. Earlier changes are easier and cheaper than after work is already done.

Cleaning Questions

Q: Bi-weekly vs monthly cleaning—which is better?

A: Bi-weekly ($159+) = best for families, pets, high traffic. Maintains "always ready" home. Monthly ($189+) = good for light-use homes, no pets, minimal mess. Deep clean ($249+) = one-time or seasonal.

Q: What's included in standard cleaning?

A: All rooms: dust surfaces, vacuum/mop floors, wipe mirrors. Kitchen: counters, sinks, appliance exteriors. Bathrooms: tub/shower, toilet, sink, mirrors. We supply cleaning products. Does NOT include: inside ovens/fridges, windows, baseboards (available as add-ons).

Q: Do we need to be home during cleaning?

A: No. Most recurring clients give us a key or lockbox code. We arrive, clean, lock up, and send you a text when done. First clean we prefer you home to walk through preferences.

Pricing & Payment Questions

Q: Are your prices negotiable?

A: Our pricing is already competitive and fair. We don't inflate quotes to negotiate down. What you see is what you pay. We'd rather be transparent upfront than play pricing games.

Q: What's your payment schedule?

A: Small jobs (under $5k): 50% deposit, 50% at completion. Larger remodels: 10-20% deposit, milestone payments as work progresses, 10% final. You pay for work completed, not before.

Q: Do you offer financing?

A: We accept credit cards, checks, and cash. For larger projects, we can recommend third-party financing options. Ask during consultation.
